MQTT 5 is an OASIS standard which debuted in March 2019. It boasts
numerous improvments over its predecessor (i.e. MQTT 3.1.1) which will
benefit users. These improvements are summarized in the specification
at:
https://docs.oasis-open.org/mqtt/mqtt/v5.0/os/mqtt-v5.0-os.html#_Toc3901293
The specification describes all the behavior necessary for a client or
server to conform. The spec is highlighted with special "normative"
conformance statements which distill the descriptions into concise
terms. The specification provides a helpful summary of all these
statements. See:
https://docs.oasis-open.org/mqtt/mqtt/v5.0/os/mqtt-v5.0-os.html#_Toc3901292
This commit implements all of the mandatory elements from the
specification and provides tests which are identified using the
corresponding normative conformance statement. All normative
conformance statements either have an explicit test or are noted in
comments with an explanation of why an explicit test doesn't exist. See
org.apache.activemq.artemis.tests.integration.mqtt5 for all those
details.
This commit also includes documentation about how to configure
everything related to the new MQTT 5 features.
- Remove duplicates dependency definition following e7e3c71511.
- Removes deprecated RELEASE version use, consolidate modules on single paho client version.
- Remove prerequisites entry as per warning, suggested enforcer rule already in place.
This commit does the following:
- Deprecates existing overloaded createQueue, createSharedQueue,
createTemporaryQueue, & updateQueue methods for ClientSession,
ServerSession, ActiveMQServer, & ActiveMQServerControl where
applicable.
- Deprecates QueueAttributes, QueueConfig, & CoreQueueConfiguration.
- Deprecates existing overloaded constructors for QueueImpl.
- Implements QueueConfiguration with JavaDoc to be the single,
centralized configuration object for both client-side and broker-side
queue creation including methods to convert to & from JSON for use in
the management API.
- Implements new createQueue, createSharedQueue & updateQueue methods
with JavaDoc for ClientSession, ServerSession, ActiveMQServer, &
ActiveMQServerControl as well as a new constructor for QueueImpl all
using the new QueueConfiguration object.
- Changes all internal broker code to use the new methods.
This is a Large commit where I am refactoring largeMessage Body out of CoreMessage
which is now reused with AMQP.
I had also to fix Reference Counting to fix how Large Messages are Acked
And I also had to make sure Large Messages are transversing correctly when in cluster.
When the MQTT consumer client (cleanSession property set to true) reconnected, there are certain probabilities that these two bugs will occur.
This is because the MQTT consumer client thinks that its connection has been disconnected and triggers reconnection, but the MQTT connection is still alive at Artemis broker. This bug occurs when new and old connections occur while operating the same queue for unsafe behavior.
Multiple consumers using the same clientId in the cluster, the last consumer connection should close the previous consumer connection!

* Move byte util code into ByteUtil
* Re-use the new equals method in SimpleString
* Apply same pools/interners to client decode
* Create String to SimpleString pools/interners for property access via String keys (producer and consumer benefits)
* Lazy init the pools on withing the get methods of CoreMessageObjectPools to get the specific pool, to avoid having this scattered every where.
* reduce SimpleString creation in conversion to/from core message methods with JMS wrapper.
* reduce SimpleString creation in conversion to/from Core in OpenWire, AMQP, MQTT.
Unsubscribe topic in clustered environment left open references to the core consumer. This patch properly closes the consumer which results in correct removal of the consumer reference on a remote queue.
Fix for MQTT in connect due to deprecated methods bug causing NPE, call new methods and null check ourselves.
Also raised https://github.com/netty/netty/issues/7076 upstream but i guess we will keep this, as the old methods are deprecated anyhow.
delegate to the jdk saslServer. Allow acceptor configuration of supported mechanismis; saslMechanisms=<a,b>
and allow login config scope for krb5 to be configured via saslLoginConfigScope=x
Multiplication operations where the operands have type `int` but the
result is cast to `long` may lead to overflow.
Fixes two instances of this problem, by ensuring the operands are cast
to `long` during multiplication.
This resolves the "Result of integer multiplication cast to long"
alerts at https://lgtm.com/projects/g/apache/activemq-artemis/alerts.
Broker should support full qualified queue names (FQQN)
as well as bare queue names. This means when clients access
to a queue they have two equivalent ways to do so. One way
is by queue names and the other is by FQQN (i.e. address::qname)
names. Currently only receiving is supported.
