In CatalogJanitor we schedule GCRegionProcedure to clean up both filesystem and in-memory state after a split, and GCMultipleMergedRegionsProcedure to do the same for merges. Both of these procedures clean up in-memory state, but CatalogJanitor also does this redundantly just after scheduling the procedures. The cleanup should be done in only one place. Presumably we are using the procedures to do it in a principled way. Remove the redundancy in CatalogJanitor and fix any follow on issues, like test failures. Apache HBase [1] is an open-source, distributed, versioned, column-oriented store modeled after Google' Bigtable: A Distributed Storage System for Structured Data by Chang et al.[2] Just as Bigtable leverages the distributed data storage provided by the Google File System, HBase provides Bigtable-like capabilities on top of Apache Hadoop [3].
