maven-plugin-descriptor PR: MNG-167 2005-04-27 01:16:06 +00:00
maven-plugin-tools Modifying the mojo generators to handle alias, and other missing elements where appropriate. Changed the resources mojos to be as trim as I can, and added @required to the field-level annotations (this might be a good thing to do for all plexus components, dunno if it's there already)...finally, trimmed up the annotation handling in the JavaMojoDescriptorExtractor to push as many annotation fields as possible into the endangered area, and started pulling as much info from the field, other companion annotations on the field, etc. as I can...I think the annotations are there, now. They need to be cleaned up after converting all the core plugins to use field-level annotations, then we're set. 2005-04-27 15:11:28 +00:00

Bootstrapping Maven
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To bootstrap Maven you must have a ~/.m2/maven.properties file with the following
entry:

maven.repo.local = /path/to/your/local/repository

Set the environment variable M2_HOME pointing to the dir where you want Maven2 installed.

NOTE: presently, the directory {M2_HOME}/bin must be in your path:
set PATH=%PATH%;%M2_HOME%\bin
or
export PATH=$PATH:$M2_HOME/bin

You can set the parameters passed to the Java VM when running Maven2 bootstrap,
setting the environment variable MAVEN_OPTS, e.g.
e.g. to run in offline mode, set MAVEN_OPTS=-Dmaven.online=false
e.g. to build maven with debug info, set MAVEN_OPTS=-Dmaven.compiler.debug=true

Then run m2-bootstrap-all.bat (in Windows) or m2-bootstrap-all.sh (in Unix)

NOTE: You must run these instructions from this directory!
