This reduces chances of errors where consumers of strings mutate inputs and reduces memory usage of the app. Test suite passes now, but there may be some stuff left, so we will run a few sites on a branch prior to merging
This script has been used to import over 50,000 Google+ posts and over 300,000 comments from 29 communities into a single Discourse instance, as well as for at least three other imports. Google+ has closed for the public, but it is still available at this time for GSuite customers.
