Moves the search sort docs from the deprecated 'Request Body Search'
page to a new subpage of 'Run a search'.
No substantive changes were made to the content.
Several files in the REST APIs nav section are included using
:leveloffset: tags. This increments headings (h2 -> h3, h3 -> h4, etc.)
in those files and removes the :leveloffset: tags.
Other supporting changes:
* Alphabetizes top-level REST API nav items.
* Change 'indices APIs' heading to 'index APIs.'
* Changes 'Snapshot lifecycle management' heading to sentence case.
Moves the following API sections under the REST APIs navigations:
- API Conventions
- Document APIs
- Search APIs
- Index APIs (previously named Indices APIs)
- cat APIs
- Cluster APIs
Other supporting changes:
- Removes the previous index APIs page under REST APIs. Adds a redirect for the removed page.
- Removes several [partintro] macros so the docs build correctly.
- Changes anchors for pages that become sections of a parent page.
- Adds several redirects for existing pages that become sections of a parent page.
This commit re-applies changes from #44238. Changes from that PR were reverted due to broken links in several repos. This commit adds redirects for those broken links.
This commit adds back "id" as the key within a script to specify a
stored script (which with file scripts now gone is no longer ambiguous).
It also adds "source" as a replacement for "code". This is in an attempt
to normalize how scripts are specified across both put stored scripts and script usages, including search template requests. This also deprecates the old inline/stored keys.
These need to be CONSOLEified *now* because we're starting to
require Content-Type headers and they didn't have any.
* cluster/reroute: Marked as CONSOLE but skipped because the docs
build runs with a single node.
* docs/bulk: Marked as NOTCONSOLE because the snippets describe
either examples or `curl` commands. Fixed the `curl` command to
include the `Content-Type` header.
* query-dsl/terms-query: Marked as CONSOLE.
* search/request/rescore: Marked as CONSOLE. Fixed deprecated
syntax.

* Update rescoring docs in respect to sort
If sort is present in a query the rescore query is not executed. As long as this feature is neither implemented (see discussion in #6788) nor the combination of sort and rescoring raises an error, we should warn the user in the documentation about this.
* Missed a dot
This is functionally equivalent to before, so there should be no
user-visible impact, except I added a NOTE in the docs warning about
the interaction of pagination and rescoring.
Closes#6232Closes#7707
Detects if rescores arrive as an array instead of a plain object. If so
then parse each element of the array as a separate rescore to be executed
one after another. It looks like this:
"rescore" : [ {
"window_size" : 100,
"query" : {
"rescore_query" : {
"match" : {
"field1" : {
"query" : "the quick brown",
"type" : "phrase",
"slop" : 2
}
}
},
"query_weight" : 0.7,
"rescore_query_weight" : 1.2
}
}, {
"window_size" : 10,
"query" : {
"score_mode": "multiply",
"rescore_query" : {
"function_score" : {
"script_score": {
"script": "log10(doc['numeric'].value + 2)"
}
}
}
}
} ]
Rescores as a single object are still supported.
