Alan Agius 2e493edf80 build: provide full paths to `ts_api_guardian_test_npm_package` and `ts_api_guardian_test` (#36034)
ts-api-guardian uses `require.resolve` to resolve the actual and golden files under bazel. In Windows for these files to be resolved correct the full path including the workspace name as per the MANIFEST entries is required.

This used to be the case until the recent changes done to use npm_integration tests

Greg Magolan dde68ff954 build: add npm_integration_test && angular_integration_test (#33927)
* it's tricky to get out of the runfiles tree with `bazel test` as `BUILD_WORKSPACE_DIRECTORY` is not set but I employed a trick to read the `DO_NOT_BUILD_HERE` file that is one level up from `execroot` and that contains the workspace directory. This is experimental and if `bazel test //:test.debug` fails than `bazel run` is still guaranteed to work as `BUILD_WORKSPACE_DIRECTORY` will be set in that context

* test //integration:bazel_test and //integration:bazel-schematics_test exclusively

* run "exclusive" and "manual" bazel-in-bazel integration tests in their own CI job as they take 8m+ to execute

```
//integration:bazel-schematics_test                                      PASSED in 317.2s
//integration:bazel_test                                                 PASSED in 167.8s
```

* Skip all integration tests that are now handled by angular_integration_test except the tests that are tracked for payload size; these are:
- cli-hello-world*
- hello_world__closure

* add & pin @babel deps as newer versions of babel break //packages/localize/src/tools/test:test

@babel/core dep had to be pinned to 7.6.4 or else //packages/localize/src/tools/test:test failed. Also //packages/localize uses @babel/generator, @babel/template, @babel/traverse & @babel/types so these deps were added to package.json as they were not being hoisted anymore from @babel/core transitive.

NB: integration/hello_world__systemjs_umd test must run with systemjs 0.20.0
NB: systemjs must be at 0.18.10 for legacy saucelabs job to pass
NB: With Bazel 2.0, the glob for the files to test `"integration/bazel/**"` is empty if integation/bazel is in .bazelignore. This glob worked under these conditions with 1.1.0. I did not bother testing with 1.2.x as not having integration/bazel in .bazelignore is correct.

Martin Probst 1084d4ab49 refactor(upgrade): avoid mutable exports. (#34232)
Previously, create_angular_testing_module would export a mutable `let`
binding. The binding is already exporting using an accessor function
though, so the export on the let variable seems like an accidental
oversight.

This is functionally equivalent, but makes it easier for module
optimizers such as Closure Compiler to track down side effects and prune
modules.

George Kalpakas c1ae6124c8 fix(upgrade): compile downgraded components synchronously (if possible) (#31840)
AngularJS compilation is a synchronous operation (unless having to fetch
a template, which is not supported for downgraded components).
Previously, ngUpgrade tried to retain the synchronous nature of the
compilation for downgraded components (when possible), by using a
synchronous thenable implementation (`ParentInjectorPromise`). This was
accidentally broken in #27217 by replacing a call to
`ParentInjectorPromise#then()` (which can be synchronous) with a call to
`Promise.all()` (which is asynchronous).

This commit fixes this by introducing a `SyncPromise.all()` static
method; similar to `Promise.all()` but retaining the synchronous
capabilities of `SyncPromise` (which `ParentInjectorPromise` inherits
from).

Pete Bacon Darwin 3fb78aaacc feat(upgrade): provide unit test helpers for wiring up injectors (#16848)
Adds two new helper functions that can be used when unit testing Angular services
that depend upon upgraded AngularJS services, or vice versa.

hybrid application.

This makes it simpler and faster to unit test services.

George Kalpakas 2236ea4359 test(upgrade): rename `angular.module()` to `angular.module_()` (#30126)
With #30058, the ngUpgrade internal `angular.module()` method was
renamed to `angular.module_()` (to avoid a webpack bug).

Merging #29794 afterwards resulted in some broken tests, because it
still used the old `angular.module()` method name. (The PR had been
tested on CI against a revision that did not contain the rename.)

This commit fixes the broken tests by renaming the remaining occurrences
of `angular.module()`.

Sam Julien 0ddf2e7a5b fix(upgrade): do not break if `onMicrotaskEmpty` emits while a `$digest` is in progress (#29794)
Previously, under certain circumstances, `NgZone#onMicrotaskEmpty` could
emit while a `$digest` was in progress, thus triggering another
`$digest`, which in turn would throw a `$digest already in progress`
error. Furthermore, throwing an error from inside the `onMicrotaskEmpty`
subscription would result in unsubscribing and stop triggering further
`$digest`s, when `onMicrotaskEmpty` emitted.

Usually, emitting while a `$digest` was already in progress was a result
of unintentionally running some part of AngularJS outside the Angular
zone, but there are valid (if rare) usecases where this can happen
(see #24680 for details).

This commit addresses the issue as follows:
- If a `$digest` is in progress when `onMicrotaskEmpty` emits, do not
  trigger another `$digest` (to avoid the error). `$evalAsync()` is used
  instead, to ensure that the bindings are evaluated at least once more.
- Since there is still a high probability that the situation is a result
  of programming error (i.e. some AngularJS part running outside the
  Angular Zone), a warning will be logged, but only if the app is in
  [dev mode][1].

Pete Bacon Darwin 9f54d76ef5 refactor(upgrade): use Bazel packages to avoid symlinks in the source (#29466)
Previously we had to share code between upgrade/dynamic and upgrade/static
by symlinking the `src` folder, which allowed both packages to access
the upgrade/common files.

These symlinks are always problematic on Windows, where we had to run
a script to re-link them, and restore them.

This change uses Bazel packages to share the `upgrade/common` code,
which avoids the need for symlinking the `src` folder.

Also, the Windows specific scripts that fixup the symlinks have also
been removed as there is no more need for them.

Pawel Kozlowski 32c61f434c fix(ivy): ngUpgrade should distinguish element and module injectors (#28313)
There are cases where we should check an element injector but don't go
into the associated module injector if a token is not found. In both the
view engine and ngIvy this is acheived by passing the
`NOT_FOUND_CHECK_ONLY_ELEMENT_INJECTOR` as the `notFoundValue`.

Before this fix the view engine and ngIvy were using different objects to
represent `NOT_FOUND_CHECK_ONLY_ELEMENT_INJECTOR`. This was causing problems
as ngUpgrade is using `NOT_FOUND_CHECK_ONLY_ELEMENT_INJECTOR` const in its
`NgAdapterInjector` to prevent searching of module injectors.

This commit makes sure that ngIvy is using the same object to represent
`NOT_FOUND_CHECK_ONLY_ELEMENT_INJECTOR` as the view engine.

Pawel Kozlowski cf8770f3cc fix(ivy): don't create TNodes for native projectable nodes (#28275)
Before this commit we were creating a "fake" TNode for each and every
projectable node passed during dynamic component creation. This approach
had several problems:
- the existing TView structure had to be mutated to accomodate new TNodes and
it was very easy to "corrupt" TView / TNode data structures;
- TNodes are not really needed to fully support projectable nodes so we were
creating objects and updating existing data structures for nothing.

This commit changes the approach so we don't create "fake" TNodes for projectable
nodes but instead we process projectable nodes directly in the projection instruction.
As a result we've got less code, less object allocation and - as a bonus - we fix few
bugs where TView / TNode data structures were corrupted when using projectable nodes.

George Kalpakas 3b7a571cc5 test(upgrade): clean up global state after test (#28181)
In ngUpgradeLite, when a downgraded component
[requests its downgraded module][1], the AngularJS injector is
[temporarily stored][2] with the intention of grabbing it
[once the module has been bootstrapped][3] (which also cleans up the
[temporary injector reference][4]).

In [some tests][5], bootstrapping a component might throw an error,
which causes the test to fail immediatelly and move on to the next
test. In slow browsers (e.g. on CI/Saucelabs), the (successful)
bootstrapping of another downgraded module might not have been
completed in time and thus the temporary injector reference not cleaned
up.

In such a case, if the following test (in our randomized test suite)
happens to rely on the temporary injector reference's being initially
unset (such as [this test][6]), it will fail. This might appear as a
flake on CI, because it depends on a race condition and specific order
of tests, so it usually goes away after a rerun.

This commit fixes it by ensuring the temporary injector reference is
manually cleaned up, when necessary.
