Manduro 80d0067048 fix(router): `RouterLinkActive` should run CD when setting `isActive` (#21411)
When using the routerLinkActive directive inside a component that is using ChangeDetectionStrategy.OnPush and lazy loaded module routes the routerLinkActive directive does not update after clicking a link to a lazy loaded route that has not already been loaded.

Also the OnPush nav component does not set routerLinkActive correctly when the default route loads, the non-OnPush nav component works fine.

ggradnig 71f008f906 fix(router): remove parenthesis for primary outlet segment after removing auxiliary outlet segment (#24656) (#37163)
For URLs that use auxiliary route outlets in the second or following path segments,
when removing the auxiliary route segment, parenthesis remain for the primary outlet segment.
This causes the following error when trying to reload an URL: "Cannot match any route".
The commit adds a check for this scenario, serializing the URL as "a/b" instead of "a/(b)".

Andrew Scott d3a817549b fix(router): fix navigation ignoring logic to compare to the browser url (#37408)
This PR changes the logic for determining when to skip route processing from
using the URL of the last attempted navigation to the actual resulting URL after
that transition.

Because guards may prevent navigation and reset the browser URL, the raw
URL of the previous transition may not match the actual URL of the
browser at the end of the navigation process. For that reason, we need to use
`urlAfterRedirects` instead.

Other notes:
These checks in scheduleNavigation were added in eb2ceff4ba
The test still passes and, more surprisingly, passes if the checks are removed
completely. There have likely been changes to the navigation handling that
handle the test in a different way. That said, it still appears to be important
to keep the checks there in some capacity because it does affect how many
navigation events occur. This addresses an issue that came up in #16710: https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/16710#issuecomment-634869739
This also partially addresses #13586 in fixing history for imperative
navigations that are cancelled by guards.

JiaLiPassion 583a9d38a1 feat(zone.js): upgrade zone.js to angular package format(APF) (#36540)
Close #35157

In the current version of zone.js, zone.js uses it's own package format, and it is not following the rule
of Angualr package format(APF), so it is not easily to be consumed by Angular CLI or other bundle tools.
For example, zone.js npm package has two bundles,

1. zone.js/dist/zone.js, this is a `es5` bundle.
2. zone.js/dist/zone-evergreen.js, this is a `es2015` bundle.

And Angular CLI has to add some hard-coding code to handle this case, o5376a8b139/packages/schematics/angular/application/files/src/polyfills.ts.template (L55-L58)

This PR upgrade zone.js npm package format to follow APF rule, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CZC2rcpxffTDfRDs6p1cfbmKNLA6x5O-NtkJglDaBVs/edit#heading=h.k0mh3o8u5hx

The updated points are:

1. in package.json, update all bundle related properties

```
  "main": "./bundles/zone.umd.js",
  "module": "./fesm2015/zone.js",
  "es2015": "./fesm2015/zone.js",
  "fesm2015": "./fesm2015/zone.js",
```

2. re-organize dist folder, for example for `zone.js` bundle, now we have

```
  dist/
      bundles/
             zone.js            // this is the es5 bundle
      fesm2015/
             zone.js            // this is the es2015 bundle (in the old version is `zone-evergreen.js`)
```

3. have several sub-packages.

1. `zone-testing`, provide zone-testing bundles include zone.js and testing libraries
2. `zone-node`, provide zone.js implemention for NodeJS
3. `zone-mix`, provide zone.js patches for both Browser and NodeJS

All those sub-packages will have their own `package.json` and the bundle will reference `bundles(es5)` and `fesm2015(es2015)`.

4. keep backward compatibility, still keep the `zone.js/dist` folder, and all bundles will be redirected to `zone.js/bundles` or `zone.js/fesm2015` folders.

Alan Agius 772c5b8f64 refactor: update to tslib 2.0 and move to direct dependencies (#37198)
Tslib version is bound to the TypeScript version used to compile the library. Thus, we shouldn't list `tslib` as a `peerDependencies`. This is because, a user can install libraries which have been compiled with older versions of TypeScript and thus require multiple `tslib` versions to be installed.

Martin Sikora d9c4840a9c fix(router): cancel navigation when at least one resolver completes with no "next" emission (#24621)
This change aligns behavior for resolvers which return EMPTY. Currently EMPTY resolvers have inconsistent behavior:
- One resolver that returns EMPTY => won't navigate and just ends on ResolveStart router event.
- Two resolvers where both return EMPTY => throws "Error: Uncaught (in promise): EmptyError: no elements in sequence"
- Two resolvers where one returns a value and the other one returns EMPTY => Navigates successfully.
With this change any EMPTY resolver will cancel navigation.

BREAKING CHANGE: Any resolver which return EMPTY will cancel navigation.
If you want to allow the navigation to continue, you will need to update the resolvers to emit
some value, (i.e. defaultIfEmpty(...), of(...), etc).

A CanLoad guard returning UrlTree cancels current navigation and redirects.
This matches the behavior available to `CanActivate` guards added in #26521.

Note that this does not affect preloading. A `CanLoad` guard blocks any
preloading. That is, any route with a `CanLoad` guard is not preloaded
and the guards are not executed as part of preloading.

Andrew Kushnir c839c05620 fix(router): removed unused ApplicationRef dependency (#35642)
As a part of the process of setting up Router providers, we use `ApplicationRef` as a dependency while providing `Router` token. The thing is that `ApplicationRef` is actually unused (all referenced were removed in 5a849829c4 (diff-c0baae5e1df628e1a217e8dc38557fcb)), but it's still listed as dependency. This is causing problems in case `Router` is used as a dependency for factory functions provided as `APP_INITIALIZERS` multi-token (causing cyclic dependency). This commit removes unused `ApplicationRef` dependency in `Router`, so it can be used without causing cyclic dependency issue.

This is experimental and if `bazel test //:test.debug` fails than `bazel run` is still guaranteed to work as `BUILD_WORKSPACE_DIRECTORY` will be set in that context

* Skip all integration tests that are now handled by angular_integration_test except the tests that are tracked for payload size; these are:
- cli-hello-world*
- hello_world__closure

* add & pin @babel deps as newer versions of babel break //packages/localize/src/tools/test:test

@babel/core dep had to be pinned to 7.6.4 or else //packages/localize/src/tools/test:test failed. Also //packages/localize uses @babel/generator, @babel/template, @babel/traverse & @babel/types so these deps were added to package.json as they were not being hoisted anymore from @babel/core transitive.

NB: integration/hello_world__systemjs_umd test must run with systemjs 0.20.0
NB: systemjs must be at 0.18.10 for legacy saucelabs job to pass
NB: With Bazel 2.0, the glob for the files to test `"integration/bazel/**"` is empty if integation/bazel is in .bazelignore. This glob worked under these conditions with 1.1.0. I did not bother testing with 1.2.x as not having integration/bazel in .bazelignore is correct.

Greg Magolan 9bb349e1c8 refactor: handle breaking changes in rules_nodejs 1.0.0 (#34589)
The major one that affects the angular repo is the removal of the bootstrap attribute in nodejs_binary, nodejs_test and jasmine_node_test in favor of using templated_args --node_options=--require=/path/to/script. The side-effect of this is that the bootstrap script does not get the require.resolve patches with explicitly loading the targets _loader.js file.

Paul Gschwendtner 6d3a25d897 ci: run acceptance tests on saucelabs with ivy (#34277)
Currently we only run Saucelabs on PRs using the legacy View Engine
build. Switching that build to Ivy is not trivial and there are various
options:

  1. Updating the R3 switches to use POST_R3 by default. At first glance,
  this doesn't look easy because the current ngtsc switch logic seems to
  be unidirectional (only PRE_R3 to POST_R3).

  2. Updating the legacy setup to run with Ivy. This sounds like the easiest
  solution at first.. but it turns out to be way more complicated. Packages
  would need to be built with ngtsc using legacy tools (i.e. first building
  the compiler-cli; and then building packages) and View Engine only tests
  would need to be determined and filtered out. Basically it will result in
  re-auditing all test targets. This is contradictory to the fact that we have
  this information in Bazel already.

  3. Creating a new job that runs tests on Saucelabs with Bazel. We specify
  fine-grained test targets that should run. This would be a good start
  (e.g. acceptance tests) and also would mean that we do not continue maintaining
  the legacy setup..

This commit implements the third option as it allows us to move forward
with the general Bazel migration. We don't want to spend too much time
on our legacy setup since it will be removed anyway in the future.

Alison Gale f6667f8281 fix(router): adjust UrlTree redirect to replace URL if in eager update (#32988)
Resubmit #31168 now that google3 tests can pass. This requires http://cl/272696717 to be patched.
Original description from jasonaden:

Without this change when using UrlTree redirects in urlUpdateStrategy="eager", the URL would get
updated to the target location, then redirected. This resulted in having an additional entry in the
history and thus the back button would be broken (going back would land on the URL causing a new
redirect).

Additionally, there was a bug where the redirect, even without urlUpdateStrategy="eager", could
create a history with too many entries. This was due to kicking off a new navigation within the
navigation cancelling logic. With this PR the new navigation is pushed to the next tick with a
setTimeout, allowing the page being redirected from to be cancelled before starting a new
navigation.

Alex Rickabaugh 84dd2679a9 fix(core): require 'static' flag on queries in typings (#30639)
This commit makes the static flag on @ViewChild and @ContentChild required.

BREAKING CHANGE:

In Angular version 8, it's required that all @ViewChild and @ContentChild
queries have a 'static' flag specifying whether the query is 'static' or
'dynamic'. The compiler previously sorted queries automatically, but in
8.0 developers are required to explicitly specify which behavior is wanted.
This is a temporary requirement as part of a migration; see
https://angular.io/guide/static-query-migration for more details.

@ViewChildren and @ContentChildren queries are always dynamic, and so are
unaffected.

PR #30393 corrected behavior where Object.keys sometimes returns an `undefined` value. However, the types didn't reflect this in the code. Jason Aden 0fd9d086e4 fix(router): ensure navigations start with the current URL value incase redirect is skipped (#30344)
In some cases where multiple navigations happen to the same URL, the router will not process a given URL. In those cases, we fall into logic that resets state for the next navigation. One piece of this resetting is to set the `browserUrlTree` to the most recent `urlAfterRedirects`i.

However, there was bug in this logic because in some cases the `urlAfterRedirects` is a stale value. This happens any time a URL won't be processed, and the previous URL will also not be processed. This creates unpredictable behavior, not the least of which ends up being a broken `back` button.

This PR kicks off new navigations with the current value the router assumes is in the browser. All the logic around how to handle future navigations is based on this value compared to the current transition, so it's important to kick off all new navigations with the current value so in the edge case described above we don't end up with an old value being set into `browserUrlTree`.

This PR fixes an issue where IE 11 can return `undefined` in with an `Object.keys` call. Solution is to add a runtime check on the value. There was a problem with a combination of the `eager` URL update, browser `back` button, and hybrid applications. Details provided in internal ticket http://b/123667227.

This fix handles the problem by setting `router.browserUrlTree` when all conditions have failed, meaning the browser doesn't do anything with the navigation other than update internal data structures. Without this change, the problem was an old value was stored in `router.broserUrlTree` causing some new navigations to be compared to an old value and breaking future navigations.

Alex Rickabaugh c61df39323 feat(router): deprecate loadChildren:string (#30073)
The proposed ES dynamic import() is now supported by the Angular CLI and the
larger toolchain. This renders the `loadChildren: string` API largely
redundant, as import() is far more natural, is less error-prone, and is
standards compliant. This commit deprecates the `string` form of
`loadChildren` in favor of dynamic import().

DEPRECATION:

When defining lazy-loaded route, Angular previously offered two options for
configuring the module to be loaded, both via the `loadChildren` parameter
of the route. Most Angular developers are familiar withthe `string` form of
this API. For example, the following route definition configures Angular to
load a `LazyModule` NgModule from `lazy-route/lazy.module.ts`:

```
[{
  path: 'lazy',
  loadChildren: 'lazy-route/lazy.module#LazyModule',
}]
```

This "magic string" configuration was previously necessary as there was
no dynamic module loading standard on the web. This has changed with the
pending standardization of dynamic `import()` expressions, which are now
supported in the Angular CLI and in web tooling in general. `import()`
offers a more natural and robust solution to dynamic module loading. The
above example can be rewritten to use dynamic `import()`:

```
[{
  path: 'lazy',
  loadChildren: () => import('./lazy-route/lazy.module').then(mod => mod.LazyModule),
}]
```

This form of lazy loading offers significant advantages in terms of:

* type checking via TypeScript
* simplicity of generated code
* future potential to run natively in supporting browsers
  (see: [caniuse: dynamic import()](https://caniuse.com/#feat=es6-module-dynamic-import))

As a result, Angular is deprecating the `loadChildren: string` syntax in
favor of ES dynamic `import()`. An automatic migration will run during
`ng upgrade` to convert your existing Angular code to the new syntax.
