Abstract
========

This document describes the development and release schedule for
Python 2.7.  The schedule primarily concerns itself with PEP-sized
items.  Small features may be added up to and including the first beta
release.  Bugs may be fixed until the final release.

================

The current schedule is:

- 2.7 alpha 1 2009-12-05

- 2.7 beta 1 2010-04-03
- 2.7 beta 2 2010-05-08
- 2.7 rc1 2010-06-05
- 2.7 rc2 2010-06-19
- 2.7 final 2010-07-03

Maintenance releases
====================

Being the last of the 2.x series, 2.7 will have an extended period of
maintenance. The current plan is to support it for at least 5 years
from the initial 2.7 release. This means there will be bugfix releases
until 2015.

- 2.7.6rc1 October 26 2013
- 2.7.6 November 2 2013


- 2.7.7 May 2014
- 2.7.8 November 2014
- 2.7.9 May 2015
