Original solution to use `description` instead of `text_description` was wrong: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/20436
Problem is that we have to escape HTML tags.
However, we would like to use escape method which is keep `/` intact. Expected behavior is given by ERB::Util.html_escape instead of Rack::Utils.escape_html

This is the first in a multi-part change to move the custom fields to a new table. It includes:
- Adding a new CategorySetting model and corresponding table.
- Populating it with data from the category_custom_fields table.
We recently had a bug which caused auto-bumping to "not work". The problem was that the value had been set to 0.5, which when coerced to an integer turned into 0. So the feature is "working as intended", but there's a possibility of misconfiguration.
When looking into this, I noticed that the inputs on the category settings page doesn't have any particular sanitisation in the front-end, and also one or two validations missing in the back-end.
This change:
- Takes an existing component, NumberField and enhances that by only allowing numeric input, essentially turning it into a managed input using the same approach as our PasswordField.
- Changes the numeric inputs on category settings page to use this component.
- Adds appropriate min constraints to the fields to disallow out-of-range values.
- Adds missing back-end validations to relevant fields.
When EmbeddableHost is configured for a specific category and that category is deleted, then EmbeddableHost should be deleted as well.
In addition, migration was added to fix existing data.
* FIX: Reset related site settings on general category delete
If the new seeded General category is deleted we also need to delete the
corresponding site setting for it so that we don't try and reference it.
This fixes a bug in the category dropdown composer.
This change creates the `clear_related_site_settings` after destroy
hook that could also be used by other features in the future, like maybe
when we have a `default_category_id` site_setting.
Looks like if `nil` out a site setting it is set to `0`?
```
[9] pry(main)> SiteSetting.general_category_id = nil
SiteSetting Load (0.4ms) SELECT "site_settings".* FROM "site_settings" WHERE "site_settings"."name" = 'general_category_id' LIMIT 1
=> nil
[10] pry(main)> SiteSetting.general_category_id
=> 0
```
That is why the tests check if the value is `< 1` and not `nil`.
* Use -1 instead of nil because it is the default
It's very easy to forget to add `require 'rails_helper'` at the top of every core/plugin spec file, and omissions can cause some very confusing/sporadic errors.
By setting this flag in `.rspec`, we can remove the need for `require 'rails_helper'` entirely.
* FIX: Don't accept accents in slug if generation_method == 'ascii'
Fixes bug reported in:
- https://meta.discourse.org/t/404-when-trying-to-edit-category-with-accent-in-slug/214762
- https://meta.discourse.org/t/formatting-and-accents-in-urls/215734/5
Assuming `SiteSetting.slug_generation_method == 'ascii'.
If the user provides a slug containing non-ascii characters while
creating the category, the user will receive a 404 error just
after saving the category since the slug will be escaped anyway but
Category.find_by_slug_path won't escape the category slug
causing the Edit Page of the category to be inaccessible.
This commit checks the provided slug and raises an error if the
provided slugcontains non-ascii characters ensuring that the
provided value is consistent with the site settings.
It also changes Category.find_by_slug_path to always escape the slug,
since if present, it is escaped anyway in Category.ensure_slug to
prevent the 404 in the Edit Category Page in case the user already
have some category with a non-ascii slug.
* Removed trailing whitespace
Sometimes administrators want to permanently delete posts and topics
from the database. To make sure that this is done for a good reasons,
administrators can do this only after one minute has passed since the
post was deleted or immediately if another administrator does it.
After deleting a category, we should soft-delete the category definition topic instead of hard deleting it. Else it causes issues while doing the user merge action if the source user has an orphan post that belongs to the deleted topic.
#b19dcac2 improved the serializer so it sends default notification
levels to users to work around cases where a category edit would
would result in clients being left with invalid notification state
Unfortunately this did not address the root issue.
When we edit categories we publish state to multiple users this
means that the serializer is executed unscoped with no user.
The client already handles this case per:
dcad720a4c/app/assets/javascripts/discourse/app/models/site.js (L119-L119)
If a property is not shipped to it, it will leave it alone on the
existing category.
This fix ensures that these wide category info updates do not
include notification state to avoid corruption of local state.
Previously, categories without any topics were being excluded from the UPDATE query. This means the counter gets stuck, and the category cannot be deleted. This change ensures that the counters get correctly set to zero.
Previously people were not consistent about mocking which left internals in
a fragile state when running subfolder specs.
This introduces a simple helper `set_subfolder` which you can use to set
the subfolder for the spec. It takes care of proper configuration of subfolder
and teardown.
```
# usage
set_subfolder "/my_amazing_subfolder"
```
You should no longer stub base_uri or global_settings
When a category has a subcategory, we ensure that no one who can see the
subcategory cannot see the parent. However, we don't take into account
the fact that, when no CategoryGroups exist, the default is that
everyone has full permissions.
When an admin changes the site setting slug_generation_method to
encoded, we weren't really encoding the slug, but just allowing non-ascii
characters in the slug (unicode).
That brings problems when a user posts a link to topic without the slug, as
our topic controller tries to redirect the user to the correct URL that contains
the slug with unicode characters. Having unicode in the Location header in a
response is a RFC violation and some browsers end up in a redirection loop.

This commit also checks if a site uses encoded slugs and clear all saved slugs
in the db so they can be regenerated using an onceoff job.
Zeitwerk simplifies working with dependencies in dev and makes it easier reloading class chains.
We no longer need to use Rails "require_dependency" anywhere and instead can just use standard
Ruby patterns to require files.
This is a far reaching change and we expect some followups here.
Previously users were still allowed to create topic via API even if
uncategorized was disabled.
Not 100% happy with all this special casing, but I guess we have to do
something.
This also splits up a mega spec now that we have fab! into a more easy to
understand structure (I hope)
- Correct create_category_definition to skip validations and use a
transaction, no longer able to create corrupt topics
- ensure_consistency now clears topic_id if pointing at deleted or missing
topic_id
- Stop creating category definition topics for uncategorized
* Introduced fab!, a helper that creates database state for a group
It's almost identical to let_it_be, except:
1. It creates a new object for each test by default,
2. You can disable it using PREFABRICATION=0
Minor fixes to add Rails 6 support to Discourse, we now will boot
with RAILS_MASTER=1, all specs pass
Only one tiny deprecation left
Largest change was the way ActiveModel:Errors changed interface a
bit but there is a simple backwards compat way of working it
This change both speeds up specs (less strings to allocate) and helps catch
cases where methods in Discourse are mutating inputs.
Overall we will be migrating everything to use #frozen_string_literal: true
it will take a while, but this is the first and safest move in this direction
If you turn it on now, default all users to approved since they were
previously. Also support approving a user that doesn't have a reviewable
record (it will be created first.)
This also includes a refactor to move class method calls to
`DiscourseEvent` into an initializer. Otherwise the load order of
classes makes a difference in the test environment and some settings
might be triggered and others not, randomly.
